In the old days of SEO there were no link indexes or Google Search Console — to succeed we had to be imaginative, try ideas out and test things. However, as the industry matured, and we got more data sources and tools, that trend fell away. At Distilled we have been doing a lot of SEO split-testing, which has convinced us that we needed a more robust approach to driving recommendations. In this presentation Tom is going to outline a hypothesis based approach to SEO, and share some example approaches for how to forecast the impact of various SEO changes before you make them, which you can then use to form a hypotheses and test the impact.
